Giraldo
Adjacent to the existing giraffe exhibit at Melbourne Zoo, the Giraffe Café consists of a timber clad kiosk and open structure dining pavillion that offers patrons a rest point on the gardens main drive and unique dining experience.
The new dining area is built among the heavy green vegetation with an elevated platform allowing diners to interact and connect with the giraffes at eye level of the animal. The slim structural supports for the canopy roof adopt an organic shape to loosely interpret the profile of a feeding giraffe.
