The extension’s form merges with the existing roof structure, maintaining architectural coherence and visual continuity. By blending restrained design with traditional materials, Brooke fosters a dialogue between past and present, enriching the architectural narrative of the area.

A significant structural transformation involved the removal of the existing timber floor and structure, replaced with a new concrete slab. This was achieved by lifting the house and supporting it on metal pins to prepare for and pour the new insulated slab on the ground, which includes hydronic heating throughout. This innovative approach not enhances the house’s energy efficiency and ensures long-term durability.
